Good Gear, Good Trail Ethics, Good Times

Introducing Oats

I am a solo thru-hiker with over 3,000 miles under my belt, making me the perfect conduit for culture, lingo, and other backcountry knowledge.

I help long-distance backpacking gear and media companies who strive to engage their audience by providing authentic, diverse, and informative content to increase community engagement in their online spaces.

Through my work, I am able to educate audiences on good trail ethics and strive for an outdoor community where everyone feels like they belong.

What trails can you find me on next?

Spring 2025

I originally planned on hiking the Pinhoti Trail in Fall of โ€˜24. After a series of unfortunate events including Hurricane Helene ravaging my hometown of Asheville and the greater Southern Appalachians and the passing of my Gram this winter, the Pinhoti is back on as my next trek.

Thru Dog will join for sections, but is now considered a โ€œsenior dogโ€ so Iโ€™m expecting a maximum of 100 miles from her total. Iโ€™m most excited to engage with the extensive and enthusiastic community of hikers that call the Pinhoti region home, and all the friends Iโ€™ve made at Pinhoti Fest in Sylacauga, Alabama the last few years.
